Facts and Figures on University Students

Current Situation
• About 2,700 Ethiopian-Israelis among the student population ages 20-30 in institutions for
higher learning- About 8% (1,527 Ethiopian-Israeli students out of 19,190 total students)
• Number of students in Masters programs- 70

Goals/Challenges
• Improve the capability of Ethiopian-Israelis to cope throughout their studies and complete
their degree
• Decrease the number of students who drop out of school
• Increase the number of students who go on to second and third degrees
• Increase the accessibility to higher education- better utilization of the college calendar
(increase of 700 students per college year).
