Maryland State Delegate Sandy Rosenberg Visits SPACE Scholastic Assistance Program in Afula

December 10, 2014
ENP was very excited to host Maryland State Delegate Sandy Rosenberg at our SPACE Scholastic Assistance Program in Afula. The principal of the school, Heli welcomed Delegate Rosenberg and briefly talked about the school's programming and ENP's involvement.

The students excitedly greeted Delegate Rosenberg and were enthralled by an interactive discussion with him. The students proposed different ways in how to better improve society and discussed the nature of various laws and societal issues with him.

Delegate Rosenberg has been a member of the House of Delegates since 1983 and currently serves as vice chair of the Judiciary Committee. His most significant legislative accomplishments include (but are not limited to) creating programs that encourage students to enter public service by repaying a portion of the educational debt of people who have lower-paying public interest jobs and by providing an up-front scholarship to students planning careers in public service; lead paint abatement legislation; Maryland’s welfare reform law; extending Maryland’s civil rights law to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation; and establishing public health priorities for the use of the State’s share of the settlement of the tobacco litigation.

In explaining his reasons for coming to Israel, Delegate Rosenberg tells of how he "fell in love with Israel - its spirituality, its people, and its problems."

ENP is grateful for Delegate Rosenberg's visit and students presented him with a framed photo as a small token of respect and admiration. Thank you for your visit and show of support!
