Recognition of Excellence at ENP Board Meeting

At the ENP Board meeting held on November 12th 2013, ENP provided its first annual awards of recognition and excellence for people and organizations that have made a great contribution to the Ethiopian-Israeli community through their involvement with ENP. Recognition was provided in the following categories:

Municipality: Dr. Hefzi Zohar, Acting Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Beersheva, for her active leadership in advancing ENP’s Scholastic Assistance Program in the city

Municipal Leadership: Ms. Yosefa Keene, Director of the Education and Social Service Department of Petach Tikva, for her advancement, accompaniment and incorporation of the program on a broad municipal level

Local Leadership: Mr. Avera Abuye for his active leadership in advancing the education of youth in the city of Kiryat Gat in his role as a lay leader

Organization: Branco-Weiss (Dr. Niva Hasson), for its leadership in helping to forge and implement ENP’s Scholastic Assistance Program in Vocational Schools

ENP Staff: Daniel Nadawo, Supervisor, South of Israel , for his leadership, diligence, perseverance and commitment.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the JFNA and Federations, Government of Israel , Representatives of Ethiopian Jewish Organizations in Israel, Jewish Agency, JDC, Keren Hayesod, implementing organizations and municipalities.

ENP also used this forum to present the latest data findings of the Myers-JDC-Brookdale Institute on the ENP Youth Outreach Centers, and reviewing the new strategic plan, to be implemented in 2014 through 2024.
