Holon is a small city close to the Mediterranean and just south of Tel Aviv. Holon is an industrial city, with the second largest industrial park in Israel, however Holon is also focused on being a “Children’s City”. The city is home to the Israel Children’s Museum, the Israel Cartoon Museum, the Israel Puppet Center, and a large water park. In addition, the municipality has invested in improving education for its 36,000 students aged 2-18.  As of 2015, Holon had a population of 188,800.

The Ethiopian-Israeli community has tremendous potential, but needs a helping hand to help it in its transition from an agrarian life to Israel’s fast-paced modern technological society. Even Israeli-born children of Ethiopian Jewish immigrants face tremendous challenges, different to those of their immigrant peers, but in some ways, even greater.
