About Safato:
Safato made aliyah from Ethiopia with her family at age 7. She did not speak Hebrew and had a difficult time integrating into Israeli society. Her parents also did not speak Hebrew and were unable to help her in school. She began lessons in English and math from ENP's SPACE Program in 7th grade. She said, “I did not know how to read and write. The program gave me tools to study and I began to progress…I finished high school with excellent grades – 5 points in mathematics and 4 points in English.
Advice:
I want to tell all the girls that they should use this program. A lot of my friends who did not take advantage of the program and did not invest in their studies were not able to succeed in school. I want to tell all students that education is important and opens doors to success.
Future Plans:
Safato graduated high school last year and hopes to go to medical school and become a doctor. Safato is now doing her national service working as an assistant to a doctor.
