If I had more time with ENP, I would continue to help design the website and contribute to other projects. Also, I would have liked to set up summer English tutoring with any of the ENP youth that were interested, and make more trips to Outreach Centers that needed help.

My take away from volunteering with ENP:
I wasn’t very informed about the history of Ethiopian-Israelis before I started interning at ENP. After meeting different Ethiopian-Israelis and being exposed to the Ethiopian culture, I gained a lot of perspective and unforgettable memories. Through working in the office of ENP, I learned how much hard work running a non-profit requires. The different projects I participated in taught me a lot of tools I can use for the future, such as technical writing, organization, and designing.
My favorite memory:
One day I stayed after a mission in the Beit Shemesh center to help the staff. I painted signs for an event and was talking to a girl who stayed after school at the center. She tried to explain what she wanted to do after high school but couldn’t find the words in English. After ten minutes, she called me to one of the computers and showed me the Google translate of what she wanted to be: a famous dancer. By trying to communicate with me, she showed me that language was no barrier between us.
