Why did you choose to volunteer with ENP?
I have had a strong connection and relationship with the Ethiopian Jewish community dating back to my Bat Mitzvah. For my Bat Mitzvah project I donated clothes and toys to Ethiopians in Israel and started a project with my Mom where every 8th grade student at Solomon Schechter in Cleveland traveling to Israel for the 8th grade trip would bring an extra suitcase filled with things to donate to the Ethiopian Jewish community in Israel. My love for this community is very strong.
What do you hope to achieve through your experience with ENP?
I hope to be able to personally inspire the girls that I am working with to want to learn English and help them to use English as a tool to succeed in their future. I feel so privileged to be providing these girls the opportunity to be thriving members of their community.
What do you love about Israel?
I love that Israel feels like home to me. There is just something in the air and all around me that makes me feel so comfortable and at ease and lets me know that I am home.
What do you do when you are not volunteering at ENP?
I love to go to the beach, it is so beautiful and relaxing here and coming from the snowy and cold weather in Cleveland it never gets old!
