ENP's Doctors in the Making

December 31, 2020

ENP's scholastic support does not stop at high-school. Helping to shape the next generation of Ethiopian-Israeli professionals and leaders, ENP is providing scholarships to medical and dental students. In the 2020-21 academic year, ENP will be supporting 22 students from across Israel, studying in Israel's top universities. These students serve as an inspiration to high school students participating in the SPACE program, and as a personal example to the heights that can be reached with hard work and perseverance.

"This scholarship means so much to me," says a 4th year medical student at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. "Thanks to ENP, I was able to invest all my efforts in my studies over the past year, without countless hassles of livelihood and debt payment, and as a result I was able to complete the year successfully and even with distinction." The physician-to-be is currently in the process of choosing an internship and is strongly considering women's medicine. She is set to start her rotation in the gynecology department in the coming year. ENP's support has enabled her to buy a new computer and subscribe to a service that helps medical students prepare for their exams. "I would like to sincerely thank ENP for helping us and the community in Eretz Israel to build our future and our community. With your generous help, we will all have a better future."

Another 4th year medical student at the Hebrew University also draws assistance from ENP's medical scholarship: "I cannot describe to you how much this scholarship helps me. It allows me to be more relaxed and focused on my goals and certainly enables me to score greater achievements which definitely would have been very difficult to achieve without your help.”

ENP is proud to enable a greater number of Ethiopian-Israelis start their careers in medicine and shape the next generation of Ethiopian-Israeli doctors, dentists and medical professionals.

ENP expresses its deep gratitude to the support of the Jewish Federation of Lehigh Valley, Beth-Israel Federated Jewish Charities of Fayetteville, North Carolina and the Harry Yanoff and Jeanette Master Charitable Trust of Cumberland Community Foundation (Yanoff Master Ethiopian-Israeli Healthcare Scholarships) and special donors through the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh who make ENP’s  Ethiopian-Israeli Healthcare Scholarships possible.
