ENP's Impact Stays Strong

July 1, 2020

The latest figures are in! A comprehensive evaluation of ENP's SPACE program in 2018 conducted by the Myers-JDC-Brookdale Institute reaffirms SPACE's profound, consistent and long-lasting impact on participants, keeping up the positive trend observed throughout the program's existence. In 2018, ENP SPACE reached a full 25% of Ethiopian-Israeli 12th graders nationwide. The findings show that SPACE participants reached a 78% matriculation rate, surpassing the national Hebrew-speaking matriculation-awarding school average of 73%! Girls were especially high performing, with 82% of SPACE female participants reaching matriculation in comparison with 72% of girls in the general Jewish population. Statistics also indicate a long-term trend of SPACE's impact. In recent years, the percentage of program participants eligible for matriculation was steadily higher than that of the total of Ethiopian-Israeli students. The findings also underscore the impact of long-term exposure to the program: according to the data, long-term participation in SPACE raised students' chances of meeting university standards.
