Reuven Tagenia Elected President Of Petach Tikva's Municipal Student Council

April 10, 2019

Reuven Tagenia, a 12th grade ENP SPACE participant in Petach Tikva, was elected as president of the municipal student council for the 2018-19 school year. In the election, Reuven received over 60% of the votes of the 15,000 student general election, which was a huge win.

While Reuven is a natural leader, SPACE also has played a role in his scholastic success and vision of his future. After starting SPACE in 10th grade, Reuven saw the difference the program made for him, especially in math. After starting in SPACE, Reuven says, “I understood how important education is to my future, and that, if I can push myself to get 100 in math, I can push myself to have success everywhere.”

SPACE not only influences a student’s studies, but gives them more motivation and confidence in life, Reuven says. He would encourage every student who needs it to use SPACE and benefit from the extra boost of confidence the program gives. “The success that SPACE gives kids is transformative and their success in school can lead them to pursue more leadership positions and a more active role in their community,” Reuven says.

“In my school, SPACE started in 10th grade,” explains Reuven. “But I see the huge difference SPACE makes with kids, especially when they have the opportunity to start in 7th grade. If I had SPACE from 7th grade, I know I would have reached the highest level of math with even greater opportunities open to me.” Reuven also shared that SPACE prompted him to think even more about his future and next steps in life. “I love math, and now I think about a career involving math or computers,” he explains.

We at ENP are so proud of Reuven and cannot wait to see what the future brings him.
