Your support will help create a brighter future for Ethiopian-Israelis in Kiryat Ata!
The Challenge
Today, Kiryat Ata is a suburb of Haifa, but historical evidence suggests the area of Kiryat Ata has been continuously occupied for over 3,000 years. Recently, Kiryat Ata has made large strides in education; in 2000 only 39% of students earned a matriculation certificate and today around 80% of students achieve a certificate. Kiryat Ata has a population of about 55,400 people.
Ethiopian-Israelis in Kiryat Ata
The Ethiopian-Israeli community has tremendous potential, but needs a helping hand to help it in its transition from an agrarian life to Israel’s fast-paced modern technological society. Even Israeli-born children of Ethiopian Jewish immigrants face tremendous challenges, different to those of their immigrant peers, but in some ways, even greater.
