Rachel's Real Relationships

Youth in School
City: Beit Shemesh

"I enjoy SPACE for the people."

Meet Rachel, 16, from Beit Shemesh. Rachel made Aliyah with her family when she was only two years old. Though she doesn’t remember much about life in Ethiopia, her parents have ensured that she has a strong understanding of the country and its culture. Both of Rachel’s parents work full-time, often leaving her without the ability to ask them for help with her schoolwork. Joining ENP’s SPACE program gave her the extra support she needed. Since joining the program, Rachel’s grades have improved significantly, particularly in her Hebrew language skills. Rachel is incredibly grateful for the SPACE program, not only for the educational benefits, but also the strong friendships that the program has provided her. For Rachel, the most important takeaway from SPACE is the knowledge that if you work hard at something, you will see results—and she wants to encourage other young people to participate in the program. Rachel’s dream for the future is to become a makeup artist and one day visit the United States.
