The Ethiopian National Project has had the incredible opportunity to impact the lives of Ethiopian Jews in Israel through education. Whether it’s English, math, or science, Ethiopian-Israeli students have the chance to push themselves to their greatest capability with the support of teachers and friends around them. Dorel, an ENP student, said that “the tutor taught me with a lot of patience and didn’t give up on me on the things I didn’t understand.” Tahel, another student, says that “the teacher was always attentive to me.” Supportive teachers and friends are what makes the ENP so successful. Students are part of an inviting and encouraging environment that allows them to thrive. Hodaya says that her favorite aspect of the ENP is that, “we eat together, we laugh together, we talk together, it is fun to be with my friends.” The ENP provides kids with the confidence and skills needed to succeed out in the world. Liel is grateful that “it helped me watch movies in English which is more fun when you don’t have to read the Hebrew text while watching.” Accomplishments like this are what makes ENP’s impact so rewarding and remarkable.
