It is the teachers passion and desire to assist the kids that allows for the ENP to succeed. Nearly every student interviewed in the SPACE program mentioned the enormous impact the teachers have on students. Dorel said, “The tutor taught me with a lot of patience and didn’t give up on me on the things I didn’t understand.” Tahel said that “the teacher was always attentive to me.” It is essential that the kids are being taught with encouragement and positivity so they are able to thrive with confidence. Oriya says she “wants to thank the team that gave me the power to make progress towards my goals and help me believe in myself.” With the guidance from the incredible and motivating teachers, students of the ENP have the ability and aspiration to achieve their goals in Israeli society.
Additionally, in small groups students learn with, allowing them to receive as much attention and assistance as they may need. Students appreciate the personal help they can obtain in these small groups. Illaei says that “it is much easier to study in a small group where all the students are motivated and want to learn English. Also, in small groups it is much easier to ask the teacher for help if you need it.” The ENP focuses on providing each individual student with any support they may need. The remarkable teachers, classmates, and the atmosphere gives Ethiopian-Israeli students the skills they need to thrive.
