Why did you choose to volunteer with ENP?
One of my main goals when coming to Israel was to truly immerse myself in the Israeli culture. As I spent time here, I began to see how impactful the Ethiopian-Israeli community is to the culture of the country. When I read ENP’s mission, I felt truly inspired, and wanted to do my part in ensuring this vibrant and rich culture feels fully integrated within their new home. ENP’s work is essential and deeply meaningful, and I am so grateful to be a part of it.
What do you like to do when you are not volunteering?
When I am not volunteering, you will likely find me with a paint brush in hand or planning a fun and exciting adventure around Israel with the friends in my program. There are so many beautiful places to explore in this country and I hope to see as many as I can during my time here!
What is your favorite food in Israel?
My favorite food in Israel has got to be hummus. I’ll add it to Falafel, Sabich, pita, carrots, pretzels, or really anything else, and truly feel like an Israeli.
What is your favorite country to travel to?
My favorite country to travel to would have to be Brazil. Having lived in the United States for almost 10 years, going back to São Paulo to visit my family and friends always brings a sense of comfort and warmth. Despite having grown up there, every time I visit there is also something new to do and and incredible places to discover.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?
If I could have one superpower, I would probably chose to fly. Even since I was young, I would imagine myself taking a small leap and taking off into the air. The feeling of freedom and adrenaline as I soar through the clouds, combined with the ability to get anywhere in a matter of seconds feels like a dream come true.
