What do you do for ENP?
I volunteer with the youth in Beit Shemesh. If we aren’t going over their math and English homework, then we’re either teaching each other our native languages, or having fun socializing and playing games. I also enjoy spending time volunteering at the ENP office in Jerusalem. The staff are simply amazing.
Who do you admire the most and why?
I admire my aunt Jane, who we all call “Re-Re.” Re-Re has always been like a mother to me. I admire her honesty, her drive to get through every struggle that life brings, and most of all, the authenticity in her loving support that she shows me.
What is your favorite part of volunteering with ENP?
I absolutely LOVE seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces. The Ethiopian community is very welcoming and even though my elementary Hebrew skills hinders certain things, they still talk to me, treat me, hug me, and show love to me as if I were their own. Each time I see their smiles, I am reminded of the joys of having a greater purpose in life.
