Meet Mesfen, 18 years old and from Netanya. Mesfen's family made Aliyah from Ethiopia when he was just 6 months old. 

He is one of six children, and his mother works long hours to provide for them, often leaving Mesfen and his siblings without anyone to help them with homework.

Before participating in SPACE, Mesfen’s grades were low and he was unmotivated,

Now, thanks to our program, Mesfen’s grades have improved dramatically, earning him 5 units in English and paving the way for a bright future.

Not only have his grades improved, but his entire attitude and energy towards learning has completely changed.

“SPACE helped me learn how to learn,” he says. “It is important to keep learning and growing, to help us all become better people.”

After finishing high school, Mesfen plans to serve in a combat unit in the army, before heading to university to complete his education.
