Osher's Story

Youth in School
City: Hadera

“If I didn’t have SPACE, I wouldn’t have lasted.”

Osher's family made Aliyah in 1991. His father works in a pharmaceutical factory and his mother works in a nursing home. He is the oldest of four siblings. He joined the SPACE program in 7th grade in order to improve his grades and enhance his comprehension skills. SPACE has especially helped Osher with his English; he used to require subtitles to watch movies in English but now he understands completely. His grades have advanced from 60s to 90s and his confidence has greatly improved. He loves the program and is friends with all of the other SPACE students. Osher enjoys soccer, drawing, and going on field trips through SPACE. He sees the program as a way for students like him to advance and succeed. Osher hopes to be a Qes-an Ethiopian religious leader-and to study electrical engineering.
