Shiri's Story-Beit Shemesh

Youth in School
City: Beit Shemesh

"In SPACE, everyone is always helping each other and ready to offer important resources."

Shiri, 13 from Beit Shemesh, is the second in her family to participate in ENP’s SPACE program. While her parents are usually able to provide her with supplementary academic support, Shiri was still struggling in school. After SPACE representatives spoke at Shiri’s school, she decided to begin attending the program, a decision that has contributed greatly to her incredible academic improvement. Shiri credits SPACE’s attentive teachers, welcoming nature, and incredible resources with much of her recent scholastic success. She now encourages younger kids to join the program, as she sees the development of healthy study habits and a strong work ethic as essential to academic success. Shiri enjoys studying Hebrew, playing sports, and having a fun time with her friends. Family is also very important to Shiri, as she especially loves spending time at her grandmother’s house during the holidays. She is also really interested in the history of the Holocaust and would like to travel to Poland to learn more.
