Volunteers

To accept one’s past—one’s history—is not the same thing as drowning in it; it is learning how to use it. An invented past can never be used; it cracks and crumbles under the pressures of life like clay in a season of drought.”

Why did you choose to volunteer with ENP?
I saw a cultural preservation effort with pure intentions to commemorate the memories and messages of the generations who made Aliyah from Ethiopia. The project promotes and creates intergenerational research and continuity with interviews collected by the descendants of the men and women who willingly put their lives in danger for the futures of unborn generations. ENP dedicates itself to preserving and highlighting an essential peace of Israeli and world Jewry heritage.
What do you hope to achieve through your experience with ENP?
While working with the ENP I hope to further learn about the history and culture of the Ethiopian community while lending my skills to the success of the project’s endeavours. I would like to help the Ti’ud project develop into a staple concern for the ENP, showcasing the miracle and the importance of Ethiopian Jews in Israeli society and overall Jewish history.
What is your favorite part of volunteering with ENP?
My favorite part of volunteering for the ENP is feeling like they genuinely appreciate and respect my skills, that I am essential member of the team, and component in the projects success.
Who is your favorite superhero and why?
I love the mythology behind Wonder Woman, the Princess of an all female warrior society based on real archaeological references to the Amazons of Greek mythology.
