Youth in School
City: Ashdod

"SPACE has changed how I perceive myself for the better."

Eliran, who is in the 9th grade, was born in Israel after his family made Aliyah from Ethiopia. Eliran’s family loves the sense of community that Israel provides along with the many beautiful sights that dot the country. Eliran is one of nine children. At the start of the school year, Eliran’s grades were low, which began to negatively impact his self-confidence. ENP’s SPACE program has contributed to Eliran’s scholastic improvement and inflated sense of self-confidence and belief. Eliran receives 4 hours of supplementary math and physics tutoring every Tuesday and now feels capable of keeping up in the classroom. Eliran believes that every child should be given the opportunity to participate in a program like SPACE, which he believes allows students to improve both academically and personally. A fan of learning new languages, Eliran’s favorite subject is English. He loves basketball and his favorite movie is “Coach Carter.” He dreams of one day becoming an engineer and would like to visit New York City.
